Angelo Necessario Shelving Unit by Paolo Pallucco

$7,500.00

Angelo Necessario Shelving Unit by Paollo Palucco and Mireille Rivier, 1989.

We currently have 2 available, one in silver finish and one in full black.

The Title of this piece is the very essence of Palluccos vision while reading Rainer Maria Rilke’s poems. The piece was part of the visionary furniture collection whose launch was staged in an abandoned slaughterhouse outside the Milan Furniture Fair, spotlit by Henry Alekan, the lighting director of Wim Wenders film Wings of Desire and soundtracked with experimental electronic music. Copies of Rainer Maria Rilke’s poetry were handed out in lieu of curatorial captions. Since the bookcase represented the death of an angel, it was staged surrounded by white flowers as customary at a funeral.
